Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Hospital Director HIM plays a vital role in overseeing health information management services to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while maintaining patient confidentiality and organizational integrity. In this leadership role, the Hospital Director HIM will supervise medical records staff, develop and implement HIM policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all applicable standards. Responsibilities include attending medical staff and hospital meetings, assisting ancillary departments with ICD-10 coding, preparing reports for leadership, managing payroll and PTO requests for your team, and collaborating with providers and other departments to streamline health information processes. You will also handle performance improvement studies and state reporting while serving as a liaison with external organizations. Qualified candidates for the Hospital Director HIM will have a bachelor's degree in health information management, a current RHIA license, at least five years of HIM experience, and two years in a hospital management role. Familiarity with electronic medical records, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks are essential for success in this position.
