PEARL RIVER VALLEY COMMUNICATIONS (PearlComm) An Internet Subsidiary of Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association Fiber Technician I This position will work throughout the Pearl River Valley Electric service territory and will report to the nearest association office in Columbia, Hattiesburg, Purvis, or Wiggins, MS. This entry-level technician will be responsible for residential and commercial fiber optic installations and will assist with service-related issues including troubleshooting, testing, and providing customer support for current and potential internet and voice subscribers. Applicants should have experience with, or the ability to learn about, fiber optic technology and components including cables, connectors, and splicing techniques. Applicants must have excellent oral communications skills and the ability to work well with the public and with other team members. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The job may require being on-call as well as working overtime on evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
