Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Welder / Hull Welder to join our team at a shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality structural welding in various positions using flux core welding techniques. This role is critical in constructing new Coast Guard vessels and requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to strict quality and safety standards.

Requirements/Qualifications
--- - -Welding Positions: Must be proficient in 3G (vertical) and 4G (overhead) welding.
--- - -Welding Process: Flux core arc welding (FCAW).
--- - -Material & Joint Requirements: Welding 5/8" plate, open butt 1/8", with a 60-degree groove.
--- - -Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of structural welding experience, preferably in the shipbuilding or heavy industrial industry.
--- - -Blueprint Reading: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
--- - -Fit-Up & Preparation: Ability to inspect, prepare, and fit materials before welding.
--- - -Welding Quality & Testing: Must be able to produce clean, structurally sound welds that pass visual and non-destructive testing (NDT).
--- - -Tool Proficiency: Experience operating power tools such as grinders, saws, and drills.
--- - -Safety Compliance: Must adhere to all workplace safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE and safe equipment operation.
--- - -Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and enter confined spaces to complete tasks.
--- - -Work Ethic: Must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work with minimal rework.
