Overview
We are seeking a Fitter Class 1 to join our growing team at a shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your knowledge and skills to a dynamic team working on a new Coast Guard vessel.

Requirements/Qualifications
--- - -3 to 5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry as a structural fitter
--- - -Must be able to read blueprints
--- - -Minimal welding experience-must be able to tack weld
--- - -Proficient in layout and cutting of steel and aluminum using necessary tools
--- - -Must possess the basic tools required to perform shipfitter duties
--- - -Strong math skills with the ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices
--- - -Ability to maintain dimensional accuracy and fairness of materials to be fitted
--- - -Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
--- - -Ability to operate equipment safely and comply with all safety standards
--- - -Demonstrates a strong work ethic
--- - -Must be able to recognize fit-up issues and relay them to a supervisor
--- - -Experience operating power tools (grinders, saws, drills, etc.)
--- - -Consistently produces high-quality work with minimal to no discrepancies
--- - -Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
--- - -Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders and enter confined spaces to complete tasks
